a bubbly & truly 'gigih' 'anak muda' welcome me & my friend, volunteer to brought us to our destination...
trees, hill & smooth traffic along the way - that was all i could remember throughout our journey until we arrive at the housing area... basically, the house resemble my room @ Berek 12, but much much cheaper!
we went to Tamu Bintulu that day...
So, a tamu is actually a 'pasar' that sell vegetables, meat & animals/food under one roof! expect a combination of exotic animals in one row- frogs, 'labi-labi' , ulat sagu (dunno its name tp klu tgk explorace, ade part peserta kna paksa makan ulat yg bergerak-gerak hidup-hidup- tu la ulatnye'... i was 'jakun' that day - while adjusting with different time zone, i encounter ------- culture (fill in the blank yourself)..
actually, i went to Sarawak just to escape from toxic environment but going there, meeting lots of people, visiting land with different culture/tradition 'menginsafkan'... take that 'anak muda yang gigih', for instance, he just got married , his wife arrived one day earlier than us, searching frantically for a house & alas, got RM900 bungalow, need 2 month deposit& set up everything for the place to call it as home... High living cost & imagine, someone who just got married surely spend lots on their wedding preparation & to start a new life in different land, away from loved one (families),it's challenging! gifts / hadiah kawin xleh bawak sebab luggage je dah berapa kilo, flight ticket pun dah berapa & now, without Mydin or Rantau Panjang(at least, that are the cheapest place you can get basic cooking utensils in bulk), they dont have much choice - buy their necessities & 'harga : tutup sebelah mata'...
both my friend & I had dinner @ his house that night! & we 'lepak' from 7 pm till 11pm! his stories include his wedding preparations(jarang giler jumpa jejaka yg buat preparation sendiri -buat pelamin sendiri, gubah hantaran sendiri & arrange segalanya sendiri... pastu, tgk the way he helped his wife, oh, he's one of the rare species yg boleh menyiang ikan & masak! plus wajah yg sedap mata memandang & 'jurus'- surely his wife got a complete package! his wife pun lawa & memang sesuai sgt dgn dia...perfect match - buatkan sy terfikir, memang lelaki yang baik untuk perempuan yg baik... & they recommend 'patut bawak balik' souvenirs - kek lapis, ikan terubuk masin, belacan bintulu, tabaloi(depend pada person, sesetengah suka, sesetengah tak, tapi must try once you are there to make sure you get a grip of reality that you are now in Land of Hornbill!) & few more items.. the rest of conversation - panjang sangat nak share, tapi, insaf jugakla dengan story diorang..
moral of the stories : memang betul jika kita rasa kita dah cukup susah/terhimpit dgn masalah yg buatkan kita susah bangun, ada lagi yang jauh lebih susah... be grateful dengan apa yg ada, kadang-kadang penyelesaian datang pada saat/ jalan yang tak disangka-sangka...
